ACTUALLY, THEY'RE BOTH LIFETIME LIONS, WHICH MEANS THEY HAVE ATTENDED W.T.

SINCE THEY WERE IN KINDERGARTEN, SO I'VE SEEN THEM BOTH TURN INTO OUTSTANDING STUDENTS.

AND TONIGHT THEY'RE GOING TO LEAD US IN THE PLEDGE.

AND THE STUDENT EXPRESSION TONIGHT LEADING US IN THE PLEDGE IS PEYTON MORALES, AND SHE IS HERE WITH HER DAD, ABRAHAM MORALES, AND HER MOM, KARINA MORENO.

I BUILD WITH MY IMAGINATION THAT TAKES HOLD, JUST LIKE LEGO BRICKS SO BRIGHT AND SO BOLD WITH MANY SHAPES AND SIZES TO BEHOLD.

EACH PIECE IS UNIQUE WITH ITS OWN SPECIAL STYLE, JUST LIKE US FIFTH GRADERS, ALL WITH THEIR OWN SPECIAL SMILE.

I SNAP AND CONNECT WITH COLORS SO BRIGHT JUST LIKE THE FRIENDSHIPS I MAKE THAT BRING ME LIGHT.

I CREATE CASTLES AND TOWERS WITH WALLS THAT STAND TALL JUST LIKE THE KNOWLEDGE I GAINED TO CREATE AND AWE.

I BUILD CARS AND PLANES WITH WHEELS THAT GO ROUND.

JUST LIKE THE DREAMS WE HAVE THAT TAKE US OFF THE GROUND.

WITH EACH NEW PIECE OUR WORLD TAKES SHAPE JUST LIKE THE FIFTH GRADE, WHERE NEW IDEAS WE CREATE.

I BUILD AND LEARN WITH EVERY PASSING DAY, JUST LIKE LEGO BRICKS IN OUR OWN UNIQUE WAY.

SO IN MY FIFTH GRADE JOURNEY, I PLAY MY PART AND USE MY CREATIVITY TO MAKE A WORK OF ART.

IT'S SUCH AN HONOR TO BE HERE.

AND IT'S AN HONOR TO RECOGNIZE THE HEAD MINISTER AT COLLEGE HILL CHURCH OF CHRIST, STEPHEN MEAD, AND OUR YOUTH MINISTER, BRADY JACKSON.

THEY ARE HERE.

THEY SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL IN MANY, MANY, MANY WAYS, TO NAME A FEW OF THEM.

THEY HAVE THEY HAVE COME TO US WITH SNACK BAGS THAT THEY BRING AND FILL AT OUR SCHOOL FOR 60 OF OUR STUDENTS EVERY WEEKEND. SO THEY SEND THEM HOME, THEY FILL THEM WITH FOOD AND SNACKS AND THEN DO THAT EVERY FRIDAY.

AND THEY COME IN AND IT'S AMAZING THAT WHAT THEY DO, LIKE THE KIDS LOOK FORWARD.

THEY'RE LIKE, WHERE'S MY SNACK BAG? THEY KNOW THAT IT'S COMING EVERY FRIDAY, AND THEY HAVE A GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT DO THAT AND THEY COME TO OUR FUN RUNS, THEY COME TO OUR FIELD DAYS AND THEY VOLUNTEER.

THEY MARK THE NUMBER OF LAPS.

THEY STAND OUT THERE IN THE HOT WEATHER AND DO ALL OF THE EVENTS FOR US.

AND SO THEY ALWAYS SEND VOLUNTEERS FOR THAT.

THEY ALWAYS GO TO THE NURSE AND ASK HER, WHAT DO YOU NEED? DO YOU NEED CLOTHES? DO YOU NEED SOCKS? WHAT DO YOU NEED? AND THEY DO DRIVES AT THEIR CHURCH FOR THAT AND SUPPLY US WITH THOSE THINGS.

AND THEY ALWAYS TREAT US TO SPECIAL THINGS TOO.

SO THEY ALWAYS PROVIDE LUNCHEONS TO OUR STAFF ALSO.

AND WE'LL HAVE LIKE A BASKET OF LITTLE GOODIES IN OUR LOUNGE AND COOKIES AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

SO THEY TREAT OUR STAFF WELL TOO.

SO WE WANTED TO TAKE AN OPPORTUNITY TO RECOGNIZE THEM FOR ALL THAT THEY DO FOR OUR FOR OUR STUDENTS AND FOR OUR STAFF TONIGHT [APPLAUSE].

THEIR OVERALL RECORD THIS YEAR IS 27-7 WITH A DISTRICT RECORD OF 10-4.

AND COACH HENDERSON INFORMED ME BEFORE I WALKED IN HERE TODAY THAT THEY WERE ACTUALLY PICKED 7TH BY THE COACHES POLL TO FINISH IN DISTRICT.

SO I'M SO HAPPY AND THRILLED THAT THEY PROVED THEM WRONG.

AND IF YOU WERE AT THEIR BI DISTRICT GAME, I KNOW THEY LOST A HEARTBREAKER AT THE BUZZER AND I KNOW SOMETIMES THAT HAPPENS IN BASKETBALL, BUT AT THIS TIME I WANT TO BRING UP DANNY HENDERSON, HIS ASSISTANT COACHES COLE JOHNSTON AND JIMMY KING, AND I BELIEVE TEN MEMBERS OF HIS BASKETBALL TEAM THAT ARE HERE TONIGHT TO ACCEPT THE RECOGNITION [APPLAUSE].

AND FOR OUR LAST RECOGNITION TONIGHT, WE HAVE HALTOM HIGH WRESTLING.

WE HAVE COACH HOHMANN HERE TO REPRESENT THEM AS WHERE IT'S A BROTHER SISTER COMBO ON THE COACHING THERE AT HALTOM AS WELL AS COACH TUCKER IS HERE TONIGHT AS WELL AS THEIR COORDINATOR. WE HAVE CARLA CAMPOS, 4-6A DISTRICT CHAMPION, 1-6A REGIONAL BRONZE MEDALIST AND 6TH PLACE AT UIL STATE TOURNAMENT.

WE HAVE NESMA SAADALLA 4-6A DISTRICT RUNNER UP AND UIL STATE ALTERNATE.

I ALSO DO WANT TO MENTION THIS GENTLEMAN.

RYDER CLARK IS ACTUALLY WRESTLING RIGHT NOW IN A NATIONAL WRESTLING TOURNAMENT IN VIRGINIA.

SO THAT'S THE REASON WHY HE'S NOT HERE TONIGHT TO FURTHER ON HIS CAREER.

BUT HE WAS A 4A 6A DISTRICT CHAMPION AND A UIL STATE ALTERNATE AS WELL.

AS WE'VE BEEN WORKING HARD OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS, WE WANTED TO GIVE YOU A LITTLE BIT OF AN UPDATE ON BECAUSE WE'VE GOT SOME PROJECTS THAT ARE GOING TO BE COMING UP THAT ARE SMALLER PROJECTS THIS SUMMER, AS YOU KNOW, WITH BONDS, ESPECIALLY AS WE GET BIDS IN THOSE TYPES OF THINGS, WE AREN'T ALWAYS ABLE TO GIVE A TWO MEETING WARNING AS FAR AS BOND APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURES.

SO I WANTED TO KIND OF LET YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOING TO BE COMING UP IN THE NEXT FEW MEETINGS.

THERE'LL BE ITEMS THAT ARE UNDER $50,000, WHICH OF COURSE WILL MOVE FORWARD WITH THERE WILL BE THINGS WITHIN NRCH LOCAL POLICY EXCEPTIONS BETWEEN $50 AND $200 THAT WE'LL UPDATE YOU SO THAT WE CAN GET MOVING ON THOSE AT A FUTURE MEETING.

AND THEN WE'LL ALSO HAVE ACTUAL BIDS COMING IN THAT WE NEED YOU TO CONSIDER.

SO JUST A FEW THINGS FOR TONIGHT THAT ARE GOING TO BE COMING UP.

AND I DO HAVE JOHN HUGHES HERE AND SCOTT NIVEN IS HERE AS WELL.

IF YOU HAVE DEEPER QUESTIONS SO WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING WITH OUR CMAR VENDOR, LEE LEWIS ON THE MODULAR BUILDING PROJECT AT FRANCISCO AS WE WORK TO COMBINE THE SCHOOLS, THE PARTNER ELEMENTARIES FOR NEXT YEAR.

AND WE DON'T NEED THAT ON THE SCREEN.

OKAY, GREAT. I JUST WANTED TO LET HIM KNOW THAT, I JUST NOTICED IT WAS THERE.

SO WE ARE LETTING LEE LEWIS HANDLE ALL OF THE INSTALLATION AND OVERSIGHT OF THE MODULAR BUILDINGS THAT ARE GOING TO BE PUT ON THE SITE AT FRANCISCO.

WE HAVE BEEN MEETING WITH THE CITY, WE'VE BEEN MEETING WITH VENDORS AND WE WILL HAVE, AS I MENTIONED IN A PREVIOUS MEETING, WE'LL HAVE AN EIGHT CLASSROOM MODULAR BUILDING AND A TEN CLASSROOM MODULAR BUILDING.

WE'RE PLANNING ON EXPANDING THE CURRENT STUDENT TEACHER PARKING LOT SO THAT WE CAN ACCOMMODATE THE ADDITIONAL STAFF.

AND THEN WE'RE WORKING WITH THE CITY ON SOME MAYBE EVEN A LITTLE BIT OF A BACK DRIVE ON THAT FAR NORTH STREET SO THAT WE HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF STACKING FOR PARENTS.

AND WE'RE WORKING ON A TRAFFIC STUDY RIGHT NOW.

SO WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO, WE'VE KIND OF TALKED ABOUT THIS AT LENGTH.

AS YOU KNOW, WITH CMAR VENDORS, WE TYPICALLY WILL COME TO YOU WITH A GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE CONTRACT.

BUT BECAUSE WE NEED TO GET STARTED ON THIS BEFORE WE'LL ACTUALLY HAVE ALL OF THE PROJECTS PRICED, WE'RE GOING TO BRING YOU A CMAR AMENDMENT FOR A GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE JUST FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THESE MODULARS AND WE'LL PROBABLY HAVE THAT AT EITHER APRIL OR MAY.

THAT'LL GIVE US AN OPPORTUNITY TO GO AHEAD AND START REIMBURSING LEE LEWIS FOR THEIR COST OF INSTALLATION.

AND WE'LL PUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS OF THE LEASE PAYMENTS FOR THESE MODULARS IN THAT INITIAL PIECE SO THAT WE CAN CLOSE THAT OUT THIS SUMMER AND EMPTY THAT CONTRACT.

THEN THE REST OF THE LEASE PAYMENTS WILL BE IN AND ALSO THE THE REMOVAL OF THOSE MODULARS, ONCE THE BUILDING IS COMPLETE, WILL BE IN THE GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE FOR THE BUILDING. THAT WILL BRING TO YOU PROBABLY SOME TIME IN THE FALL.

SO I DID WANT TO LET YOU KNOW, AND I THINK WE'VE MENTIONED IT BEFORE, WE DID BUDGET HALF $1 MILLION IN THE BOND BUDGET FOR THIS FOR THE PORTABLE BUILDINGS, BUT THAT WAS WHEN WE THOUGHT THOSE WERE GOING TO BE OVER AT THE OTHER SITE.

BUT NOW THAT WE'RE HAVING TO HAVE MORE CLASSROOMS AT FRANCISCO, WE WILL PROBABLY NEED A LITTLE BIT OF ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR THAT.

THE GOOD NEWS IS WE HAVE OUR BOND FUNDS INVESTED RIGHT NOW AND RATES ARE ALMOST UP TO 5% IN OUR TAX POOL.

SO WE ARE GENERATING INTEREST ON THOSE FUNDS THAT WILL HELP US WITH SOME OF THESE ADDITIONAL COSTS.

BUT WE'LL BE BRINGING THAT BACK TO YOU.

A FEW OTHER THINGS WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TONIGHT ON YOUR AGENDA AND THE CONSENT.

YOU'LL HAVE THE MOVE CONTRACTS.

WE'LL BE MOVING MOLANDER AT THE END OF MAY OUT OF THEIR BUILDING INTO THE RICHLAND ELEMENTARY LOCATION.

WE ALSO WILL BE HAVING TO EMPTY THE SMITH BUILDING, THE SMITH ELEMENTARY.

THOSE ITEMS WILL BE MOVED OVER INTO THE GYMNASIUM AND CAFETERIA AT FRANCISCO UNTIL WE GET THE MODULARS INSTALLED THIS SUMMER.

THEN THE MOVERS WILL COME BACK AND HELP US GET EVERYTHING MOVED INTO THE MODULAR BUILDING.

SO THOSE ARE ON YOUR CONSENT ITEMS TONIGHT.

WE ALSO HAVE ASBESTOS ABATEMENT.

SO AT MULLENDORE, THAT ONE IS GOING TO BE BELOW $50,000.

WAS IT END OF APRIL? WE'RE GOING TO BE STARTING SOME OF THAT ASBESTOS ABATEMENT? ABATEMENT AT MULLENDORE WILL START MAY 3RD.

OH, THAT'S RIGHT. IT'S THE END OF MAY, BUT WE'LL GET THAT IN BEFORE THE DEMOLITION.

AND THEN THAT'S THE OTHER PIECES THAT WILL BE COMING IN APRIL OR MAY ON MULLENDORE AND SMITH THE DEMOLITION DEMOLITION CONTRACTS THAT WILL BE BRINGING TO YOU AT THAT TIME.

RIGHT NOW, THE BID FOR THE BOB GRIGGS HIGH SCHOOL IS OUT ON THE STREET.

WE ARE USING THAT AS A CONCEALED COMPETITIVE PROPOSAL AND THAT WILL BE COMING TO YOU FOR CONSIDERATION AT THE APRIL BOARD MEETING.

SO WE'LL BE EXCITED TO GET STARTED ON THAT.

A FEW OTHER THINGS WE'LL HAVE THE DESIGN DEVELOPMENT INFORMATION TO YOU ON THE PRESS BOXES AND THE BIRDVILLE HIGH SCHOOL COURTYARD THAT'LL BE COMING IN MAY.

RIGHT NOW, THAT'S ON OUR SCHEDULE.

AND THEN ONE OF THE BIG ONES I WANTED TO MENTION TO YOU, DUE TO THE CONDITION OF THE PLUMBING AT SNOW HEIGHTS, THAT WAS ONE OF OUR BOND PROJECTS.

WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO GET STARTED ON THAT THIS SUMMER.

AND JOHN HAS SOME DETAILS ON IT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

BUT WE'RE GOING THE PROJECT IS SO LARGE, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO DO IT OVER TWO SUMMERS AND ACTUALLY UTILIZE TWO VENDORS.

SO WE HAVE OUR JOB ORDER CONTRACTORS THAT WE'VE USED IN THE PAST.

WE NEED SOME PEOPLE WE CAN TRUST THAT WILL HELP OVERSEE THAT.

WE'LL HAVE ONE OF THEM WILL BE DOING THE KITCHEN THIS SUMMER AND IT'S GOING TO BE A PRETTY BIG PROJECT.

WE'VE GOT QUITE A FEW ISSUES IN THE KITCHEN.

THE OTHER WILL BE DOING FROM THE BUILDING TO THE STREET, AND THEN NEXT SUMMER WE'LL COME BACK AND DO THE REST OF THE INSIDE OF THE BUILDING.

SO THOSE WILL BE COMING TO YOU HERE IN THE THE NEXT FEW MONTHS SO THAT WE CAN TRY TO GET STARTED ON THAT THIS SUMMER.

AND THEN ONE OTHER PROJECT OF NOTE IS, IF YOU REMEMBER, WE HAD SOME ISSUES WITH THE ELEVATOR LAST SUMMER.

AND SO WE'RE GOING TO MOVE FORWARD ON THAT ELEVATOR CONTRACT THIS SUMMER.

WE'RE GOING TO BE USING SOUTHWEST ELEVATOR, WHO WE'VE BEEN USING INSIDE THE DISTRICT.

IT'S BEEN A REALLY GOOD RELATIONSHIP.

WE'VE HAD TROUBLE WITH SOME OF THE PREVIOUS VENDORS THAT WE'VE USED.

IT SHOULD RUN US AROUND $125,000.

SO THAT WILL BE ONE OF THE CH EXCEPTION.

SO THAT WILL BE WE'LL BE GETTING STARTED ON THAT APRIL 1ST.

AND THEY'VE TOLD US IF WE CAN GET STARTED AT THAT POINT, THEN WE SHOULD HAVE IT COMPLETED BY FOOTBALL SEASON WITHOUT A PROBLEM.

AND THEN THE LAST THING WE'LL HAVE, APRIL OR MAY WILL HAVE AN UPDATED TIMELINE.

AND WHAT YOU SEE UP THERE IS A PHOTOMETRIC DESIGN WITH A NEW LED COOPER SYSTEM THAT WOULD ALMOST DOUBLE YOUR OUTPUT OF OF WHAT'S AT YOUR STADIUM NOW USING ONE FOR ONE REPLACEMENT AND THAT'S A 100 FOOT CANDLES, WHICH IS, YOU KNOW, TWICE WHAT A TYPICAL UIL STADIUM WOULD BE.

SO ORIGINALLY WE ALSO HAD LOOKED AT THIS SIMILAR, I GUESS, SITE PARKING AND PAVING LAYOUT TO THE WAY CHENEY HILLS IS THAT YOU HAVE QUITE A BIT OF PARKING OUT IN THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING.

WHAT THAT DID WAS IT PUSHED THIS BUILDING DOWN INTO THE EXISTING KAY GRANGER PARK.

ONE OF OUR INITIAL FIRST MEETINGS WITH THE CITY.

WE TALKED TO THEM AND IT WE WE FOUND OUT A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT KAY GRANGER AND HOW SHE IS THE DAUGHTER OF THE NAMESAKE FOR THIS BUILDING. AND IT WAS ASKED OF US TO LOOK IF WE WERE ABLE TO PRESERVE AS MUCH OF THE PARK AS POSSIBLE.

WE WENT BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD, CAME BACK WITH SOME OPTIONS AND LOOKED THROUGH THOSE OPTIONS WITH THE DISTRICT AND WITH THE CITY. SO WITH THOSE MEETINGS WE LANDED UPON AGAIN, WE PROBABLY HAD ABOUT 7 OR 8 DIFFERENT OPTIONS.

WE LANDED UPON THIS OPTION, WHICH WE FELT LIKE WAS THE THE BEST.

IT CHECKED THE MOST POSITIVE BOXES.

AND SO KIND OF WANTED TO GIVE YOU A LAYOUT OF HOW THAT WOULD WORK.

WE HAVE BASICALLY TWO DRIVES.

WE HAVE A PARENT LOOP HERE ON THE NORTH SIDE AND THEN ALSO A PARENT AND BUS LOOP THAT IS INTEGRATED HERE OFF OF FLORY STREET.

THE IDEA WOULD BE THAT YOU COULD POTENTIALLY AND WITH ALL OF THESE, THERE'S A LOT OF FLEXIBILITY THAT'S BUILT IN TO HOW THIS COULD BE USED.

BUT WE'LL I'LL JUST WALK THROUGH THIS SCENARIO.

YOU HAVE A PARENT LOOP WHERE YOU WOULD HAVE THE OLDER STUDENTS THAT COULD BE ABLE TO BE DROPPED OFF HERE AT THIS END.

AND THEN YOU HAVE ANOTHER PARENT LOOP AGAIN, GETTING A LOT OF THE STACKING OF THE CARS OFF OF THE EXISTING SITE AND THAT COULD BE USED FOR THE PRE K AND FIRST GRADE STUDENTS ALSO HAVE A BUS LOOP.

WHAT WE DID FIND OUT IN TALKING WITH STAFF AND THE DISTRICT IS THAT CURRENTLY THERE ARE TWO SPED BUSSES AND ONE REGULAR SCHOOL BUS THAT DROP OFF AT MULLENDORE.

THE STAFF HAD RECOMMENDED THAT SINCE WE HAVE TWO SPED BUSSES, IT WOULD BE BENEFICIAL FOR THEM TO BE ABLE TO BE DROPPED OFF AT THE SPED WING, WHICH IS WHAT WE'RE SHOWING HERE IN PURPLE.

AND SO ALSO AS PART OF THIS, WE WERE THINKING, OKAY, THE BUSSES, THEY SHOW UP ABOUT 15 MINUTES BEFORE PARENTS ARE ABLE TO DROP OFF.

AND SO WHAT WE DESIGNED THIS FOR IS THAT WE COULD HAVE PARENTS THAT COULD COME IN STACK AND WE WOULD EITHER GATE OR CONE THIS OFF, YOU KNOW, BECAUSE THERE'S GOING TO BE THOSE ONES THAT GET THERE BEFORE THE SCHOOL BUSSES GET THERE.

SO WE WOULD WE WOULD CLOSE THIS OFF, LET THE SCHOOL BUSSES COME THROUGH, AND THEN 15 MINUTES LATER OPEN UP THIS PATH TO ALLOW STUDENT

AND ALSO SAME WAY IT WOULD WORK FOR PICKUP IN THE AFTERNOON.

IF IN THE FUTURE THERE ARE MORE BUSSES THAT START TO BE NEEDED FOR MULLENDORE ELEMENTARY, WE DO HAVE AN OPTION WHERE WE HAVE A FIRE LANE THAT COMES THROUGH ON THE EAST SIDE THAT BUSSES COULD COME THROUGH AND DROP OFF ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE BUILDING.

YOU KNOW, SINCE WE WOULD NEED TO HAVE THIS AREA GATED, I THINK THIS WOULD BE THE SECONDARY WAY OF LOOKING AT IT, HANDLING IT.

AND THAT'S WHY WE DECIDED THAT THIS WAY WOULD BE WOULD BE BEST FOR SHORT TERM.

BUT WE DO HAVE OPTIONS AND FLEXIBILITY THAT'S BUILT INTO THE WAY THIS IS DESIGNED.

AND THEN WE'RE ALSO KEEPING THE EXISTING PARKING AND EXISTING PARK AND PAVILION INTACT IN HERE.

KIND OF THE STATS, WE WERE ABLE TO GET APPROXIMATELY 166 PARKING SPACES ON SITE.

ONE OF THE THINGS THAT THE CITY DID ALLOW US TO DO IS HAVE PARKING OFF OF THE STREET.

CURRENTLY THAT'S HOW A LOT OF THEIR PARKING FOR THAT SCHOOL IS FUNCTIONING.

AND SO WE'RE KEEPING AND ADDING ON TO THAT.

AND THEN THERE'S ALSO PARKING WITHIN THE THE LOOPS AND PARKING LOTS HERE.

SO WE HAVE 166 SPACES.

ACTUALLY, WE HAVE MORE THAN EVEN CHENEY HILLS ELEMENTARY WITH THIS LAYOUT AND DESIGN.

AND YOU CAN SEE ALMOST FOUR TIMES AS MUCH AS WHAT'S ON AT THE EXISTING MULLENDORE AND THEN QUITE A BIT OF STACKING THE NORTH PART OF THIS DRIVE, WE HAVE 22 CARS STACKING AND ON THIS SIDE WE HAVE ABOUT 23 CARS STACKING.

SO WE ARE GOING TO PLAN TO USE THE EXISTING PLAYGROUND, BUT WE DO HAVE OPTIONS TO ADD A PLAYGROUND.

AND ACTUALLY I THINK THIS PLAYGROUND WE MAY DESIGNATE FOR THE YOUNGER STUDENTS AND HAVE THAT ON OUR PROPERTY.

AND THEN FINALLY WE WILL HAVE IT SO THAT THE EXISTING PARK WILL BE DIVIDED OFF BETWEEN THE SCHOOL GROUNDS AND THE PARKS.
