THIS INTERACTIVE BOARD WAS CREATED FOR PRE-K, KINDERGARTEN, AND FIRST GRADE AND INCORPORATED ANIMAL BARNYARD SOUNDS TO TEACH PHONICS, SYLLABLES, AND SENSOR ENGAGEMENT TO SUPPORT LITERACY.

BAILEY WON THIRD PLACE.

[APPLAUSE] OLIVIA MCGUIRE, RICHLAND HIGH SCHOOL, COMPETED IN THE JOB INTERVIEW COMPETITION.

OLIVIA COMPETED IN A MOCK INTERVIEW AND WAS TASKED WITH APPLYING FOR AN EA SPECIAL EDUCATION POSITION AGAINST A TOTAL OF 50 STUDENTS FROM THROUGHOUT THE NATION IN THIS EVENT AND WON FIRST PLACE.

[APPLAUSE] ANABEL DAVIDSON, RICHLAND HIGH SCHOOL, COMPETED IN THE EDUCATORS RISING MOMENT COMPETITION AND GAVE A HEARTFELT PRESENTATION TO THE JUDGES, WHICH WON HER FIRST PLACE IN THE NATION.

[APPLAUSE] ANABEL, I'M GOING TO KEEP BRAGGING ABOUT YOU, ANABEL, WROTE AN INSPIRATIONAL NARRATIVE ABOUT HER DECISION TO BECOME AN EDUCATOR AS A LOVING TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF HER MOTHER, WHO TAUGHT FOR MANY YEARS AND SERVED AS AN ACADEMIC COACH AT JACK C. BINION ELEMENTARY.

CONGRATULATIONS, ANABEL.

KIMBERLY INTERNS AT ACADEMY AT CARRIE FRANCES THOMAS, AND HER BOOK HAS PROVIDED SUPPORT TO SPANISH-SPEAKING STUDENTS IN THE CLASS.

KIMBERLY WON SECOND PLACE.

[APPLAUSE] STUDENTS ACHIEVE NATIONAL RECOGNITION BECAUSE OF DEDICATED TEACHERS, AND IT'S A PRIVILEGE TO RECOGNIZE THE EDUCATION AND TRAINING TEACHERS, RONNIE DUKES, RICHLAND HIGH SCHOOL, AND KAREN KALLAS, BIRDVILLE HIGH SCHOOL.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE OUTSTANDING STUDENTS AND THEIR TEACHERS FOR ACHIEVING TREMENDOUS SUCCESS.

IT'S BEEN A BIT [NOISE] SINCE WE'VE DONE THIS, BUT WE HAVE SOME REALLY EXCITING CHANGES THAT I'M SO PROUD TO ANNOUNCE TO YOU GUYS TONIGHT.

THE MISSION OF OUR EDUCATION FOUNDATION IS TO ENHANCE INNOVATIVE LEARNING AND SUPPORT THE EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE OF BIRDVILLE ISD.

I CAN SPEAK TO THIS DEFINITELY BECAUSE I'M A PRODUCT OF THIS DISTRICT.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW THAT, I'M A PROUD GRADUATE OF HALTOM HIGH SCHOOL, MARRIED TO BUFFALO, HAD A LOT OF BABY BUFFALOS.

STILL GOT ONE MORE WE'RE TRYING TO GET THROUGH THERE.

BUT ANYWAY, I AM DEEPLY GRATEFUL TO WHAT THIS FOUNDATION PROVIDED FOR MY TEACHERS SO THAT THEY COULD HELP ME BECOME THE SUCCESS THAT I AM.

OF COURSE, PRESIDENT DREES AND VICE PRESIDENT KUNKEL ARE OUR EX-OFFICIO MEMBERS.

A BRIEF HISTORY. IN 1996, SEVERAL BUSINESSES HERE APPROACHED THE SCHOOL DISTRICT WITH THE NEED TO USE SOME FREEPORT EXEMPTION MONEY THAT THEY HAD.

WE FORMED A 501(C)(3) CORPORATION, AND THE BRAINCHILD AND THE FOUNDER OF ALL OF THIS WAS ACTUALLY FORMER SUPERINTENDENT, DR. BOB GRIGGS.

OUR FIRST GROUP OF MEMBERS WERE DR. GRIGGS, CA SANFORD, WHO WAS ALSO A FIRST EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CHARLES BRINKLEY, WHO WAS MY CHAIRMAN AT MY FIRST BANK I EVER WORKED FOR, BILL RICKETTS, RICK WORK, WHO'S STILL VERY ACTIVE IN THE COMMUNITY, AND MARK WOOD, WHO ACTUALLY HAPPENS TO BE HERE TONIGHT.

A COUPLE OF THE OTHER FOUNDING MEMBERS WERE CURRENT BOARD MEMBERS OSCAR TREVINIO AND DOUG TERRY.

OVER 15 YEARS, THE EDUCATION FOUNDATION OPERATED ONLY ON INVESTMENTS AND A FEW DONATIONS.

WE'VE HAD VERY CAREFUL STEWARDSHIP OF THE MONEY THAT WE WERE GIVEN.

WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO GROW IT, TAKE A VERY GOOD CARE OF IT, AND WE'VE ENSURED THAT IT WILL BE THERE FOR MANY YEARS TO COME TO SUPPORT THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT.

JUST A FEW OF THE GRANTS THAT WE'VE AWARDED OVER THE YEARS.

SINCE 2001, I'M VERY PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT THIS FOUNDATION HAS PROVIDED OVER $2.2 MILLION OF SUPPORT DIRECTLY TO THE EDUCATORS AND STUDENTS OF THIS DISTRICT.

[APPLAUSE] NOW, SINCE I'M A NERD, AND I LIKE NUMBERS AND EVERYTHING, YOU GUYS CAN PERUSE THIS LATER, BUT I KEEP TRACK OF THIS.

SINCE WE BEGAN, THIS SHOWS YOU THE AWARDS THAT WE'VE MADE PER CAMPUS, AND THEN ALSO I BREAK IT DOWN FURTHER PER FEEDER SYSTEM.

IT'S AMAZING HOW EQUAL IT HAS BEEN THROUGHOUT THE YEARS.

BUT THERE'S SOMETHING I WANT TO POINT OUT HERE IS THAT, OUR AVERAGE GRANT SIZE HAS BEEN 3,100 FOR BIRDVILLE FEEDERS, ABOUT 2,900 FOR THE RICHLAND FEEDERS, AND ABOUT 2,800 FOR THE HALTON FEEDERS.

WE REALLY TOOK A HARD LOOK AT THESE THINGS THIS YEAR, AND DECIDED TO MAKE A FEW CHANGES.

WHAT WE'VE DECIDED TO DO IS REVISE OUR PRIMARY PROGRAM, WHICH IS OUR INNOVATED EDUCATION GRANTS.

WE'RE GOING TO SIMPLIFY THE APPLICATION PROCESS.

WE'RE GOING TO BROADEN THE ELIGIBILITY.

OUR ELIGIBILITY HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY STRICT.

WE REALIZE THAT THIS DISTRICT AND ITS STUDENTS HAVE CHANGED, AND SO WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO MAKE OUR FUNDS AVAILABLE TO MORE STUDENTS AND MORE TEACHERS.

WE ALSO DOUBLED OUR INDIVIDUAL GRANT LIMITS.

EVERY CLASSROOM TEACHER ON THEIR OWN CAN NOW APPLY FOR A GRANT OF UP TO $5,000.

A GROUP OF TEACHERS WITHIN A SCHOOL OR A DEPARTMENT OR THE CAMPUS ITSELF MAY APPLY FOR A GRANT UP TO $10,000.

OUR BIGGEST INCREASE IS THAT, WE WILL BE AWARDING $200,000 IN NEXT YEAR'S FUNDING AND $250,000 IN FISCAL YEAR, 2026.

[APPLAUSE] THAT WILL EFFECTIVELY DOUBLE WHAT WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO DO.

IN ADDITION, WE ALSO SUPPORT THE DISTRICT THROUGH OUR ANNUAL SHINING STARS GALA, AND IT'S GOLDEN GALA.

THAT'S THE TEACHER OF THE YEAR.

THIS IS JUST THE MOST FANTASTIC EVENT.

WE'VE ALWAYS SUPPORTED THE THREE MAJOR WINNERS WITH A $500 CASH GIFT, AND WE'VE GIVEN ALL OF THE INDIVIDUAL WINNERS A $50 GIFT CARD.

WELL, WE DECIDED THAT WASN'T ENOUGH, PLUS THE FACT WHEN I WENT THIS YEAR, DR. BOB GRIGGS GAVE AN AWARD IN HONOR OF HIS WIFE, AND IT MADE OURS LOOK LIKE REALLY LITTLE.

I DECIDED WE WERE NOT GOING TO DO THAT.

WE GOT TO STEP UP AND MEET WITH DR. GRIGGS BAR THAT HE SAT THERE.

THAT'S GOING TO BE A NICE GIFT FOR THEM, AND THAT'S THE LEAST THAT WE CAN DO TO SAY, THANK YOU. THEN WE WILL CONTINUE.

WE SUPPORT OUR ANNUAL PTAS THROUGH AWARDING GIFT CARDS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, AND WE CONTINUE THAT AS $1,000 THIS NEXT YEAR.

THEN FROM NOVEMBER IN THROUGH DECEMBER, GIVING STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO TOUR THE BUILDING, TO EAT LUNCH AT THE BUILDING, TAKING LITTLE FIELD TRIPS OVER THERE FOR THE SPED STUDENTS, I THINK THERE'S BEEN A LOT OF FORETHOUGHT IN HOW TO MAKE THIS TRANSITION A LOT MORE COHESIVE FOR STUDENTS.

THERE ARE SOME SETBACKS.

TEACHERS HAVE CLEANED UP THEIR CLASSROOMS AND THINGS LIKE THAT OVER AT SHANNON HIGH SCHOOL.

THEY WILL NEED TO UNPACK SOME BOXES, AND THEY'LL BE A LITTLE BIT MORE SETTING UP THAN WE HAD WANTED.

BUT IN THE LONG RUN, THIS PROJECT, WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WHEN STUDENTS GO IN, IT'S DONE.

THE PAINT ISN'T WET, THE FLOORING ISN'T PULLING UP.

WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT IT'S PERFECT FOR THEM.

IN THE NEXT COMING WEEKS AND THROUGH NOVEMBER, WE'RE GOING TO BE, I SAY WE, THE CONTRACTORS WILL BE WORKING HARD TO COMPLETE THE BUILDING FOR NOVEMBER, AND THEN WE'LL DO RIBBON CUTTING AND THINGS LIKE THAT IN DECEMBER, SO THAT IN JANUARY, WHEN THE SEMESTER TURNS OVER, STUDENTS WILL THEN BEGIN AT THE NEW BUILDING AT THAT TIME.

>> I DO LOVE THE CONVERSATION THAT WE HAD IN REGARDS TO THE TRANSITION OF THE STUDENTS.

WE REALLY LIKE THE IDEA OF THE STUDENTS HAVING AN OPPORTUNITY THROUGHOUT THE SEMESTER, LIKE ERIN SAID, TO TOUR THE BUILDING AND SLOWLY TRANSITION THEIR ENVIRONMENT SO THAT IT'S NOT JUST SUCH AN ABRUPT CHANGE.

WE APPRECIATE THAT UNDERSTANDING.

>> I MEAN, AND HAVING THIS TRANSITION TIME ONCE SCHOOL BEGINS IN JANUARY, THERE WON'T BE PEOPLE IN AND OUT OF THE BUILDING.

THE PUNCH LIST WILL BE DONE, WE'LL BE 100% COMPLETE WITH CONSTRUCTION.

WE FELT THAT IT WAS BEST AGREED WITH DR. STINSON AND THE CONSTRUCTION TEAM THAT THIS WOULD BE THE BEST FOR STUDENTS IN THE LONG-TERM.

THE SECOND PROJECT BEING THE BIRDVILLE HIGH SCHOOL COURTYARD AND RENOVATIONS.

THIS JOB IS NEARLY COMPLETE.

THE CONCRETE WILL GO IN THE WEEK OF THE FIRST, WHICH IS NEXT WEEK.

ONCE THAT CONCRETE IS IN, THEN WE'RE JUST A QUICK ROLE TO BE OPEN THE WEEK THAT SCHOOL IS OPEN.

IT WILL BE ALL COMPLETE BACK IN THAT AREA BEHIND BIRDVILLE.

MOLENDOR ELEMENTARY FROM THE CONTRACTOR.

THIS IS THE MOST EFFICIENT PROJECT THAT WE ARE OVERSEEING.

EVERYTHING JUST IS FALLING INTO PLACE.

IT WAS EXPLAINED TO US THAT IF EVERY PROJECT COULD BE LIKE THIS, WE WOULD DO 100 OF THEM JUST BECAUSE IT'S SO SEAMLESS.

IT WAS ALSO NOTED DURING OUR DISCUSSION, HOW MUCH NICER IT IS TO HAVE A SPACE THAT NO ONE IS OCCUPYING TO DO CONSTRUCTION.

>> THIS IS ONE OF THOSE PROJECTS THAT IS COMING TO FRUITION EXACTLY AS IT WAS DRAWN UP AND ON THOSE TIMELINES.

IT'S BEEN A FUN ONE.

THE BUILDER STILL BELIEVES THAT IT'LL BE FINISHED ABOUT A MONTH EARLY, BUT YOU CAN SEE THE FOOTINGS GOING IN THERE, CONCRETE WILL BE GOING IN PRETTY QUICKLY.

LOTS OF MOVEMENT OVER THERE, WHICH IS EXCITING.

THE HALTOM HIGH SCHOOL AND RENOVATIONS IN ADDITION, THE ROOFING IS DONE ON THIS BUILDING.

AS NOTED PREVIOUSLY, THE WORK IS SPLIT OVER TWO SUMMERS.

THIS PROJECT, LIKE WE'VE MENTIONED BEFORE, IS THE BIGGEST PROJECT THAT WE HAVE.

PART OF IT WAS DONE THIS YEAR, AND THEN THERE'LL BE SMALLER PROJECTS DONE DURING SCHOOL, BUT THEN THE BULK OF THE OTHER PROJECT WILL BE DONE NEXT SUMMER.

AS SOON AS SCHOOL BEGINS, THAT MIDDLE PHOTOGRAPH, WHICH IS THE DANCE BUILDING WILL BEGIN CONSTRUCTION.

WE'LL BEGIN TO SEE THAT LAID OUT, I THINK THE AREA IS CODED OFF ALREADY IN THE BACK OF THE SCHOOL.

WE EVEN GOT TO SEE A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE ROOF TO SEE HOW LARGE THAT BUILDING IS.

YOU DON'T THINK FROM THE MAIN ROAD, HOW BIG THAT BUILDING IS, AND IT'S PRETTY LARGE.

ROOF IS JUST ABOUT DONE OVER THERE.

OTHER VARIOUS SUMMER TASKS THAT THE BOND HELPED TO SUPPLY OUR ROOFING, HVAC, PAINTING, AND FLOORING, ALL OF THESE THINGS THAT ALL OF THE SCHOOLS LISTED ARE SLATED TO BE DONE BEFORE SCHOOL IS OPEN, OBVIOUSLY, WHICH IS WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK.

THIS BUILDING IS 52,150 SQUARE FEET AND SERVES A LARGE NUMBER OF THE DISTRICT'S NEEDS AND HAS FOR A LONG TIME.

UNFORTUNATELY, SINCE THAT TIME, TWO YEARS AGO, MORE EROSION HAS CONTINUED TO TAKE PLACE.

THIS IS A DRONE SHOT OF THE BUILDING THAT DAVE LAMPSON, I BELIEVE TOOK THIS WEEK.

THIS IS THE BACK WHAT I'LL CALL THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE BUILDING IN THE CREEK DOWN BELOW.

THAT CREEK DOWN BELOW, IF YOU WERE STANDING ON THE GROUND RIGHT AT THE CORNER OF THE BUILDING, THAT'S A STRAIGHT DROP OFF OF BETWEEN 20-25 FEET RIGHT DOWN INTO THE CREEK.

AS YOU'LL BE ABLE TO SEE A LITTLE BIT IN THIS VIDEO, THE PARKING LOT IN FRONT OF THE RETAIL DEAL ON THE NORTH SIDE RIGHT THERE, VERY CLOSE TO OUR BUILDING HAS ALSO STARTED FALLING DOWN INTO THE CREEK AS WELL.

SEVERE PROBLEM.

CORP OF ENGINEERS IS GOING TO HAVE TO BE INVOLVED IN THE FIX ON THIS THING, AT LEAST FROM AN APPROVAL STANDPOINT, THAT'S GOING TO TAKE A LONG TIME.

AGAIN, THAT'S THE BUILDING RIGHT THERE BEHIND THE RETAIL CENTER.

THIS IS AN AERIAL SHOT OF THE SAME BUILDING, SAME PARKING LOT, AND RETAIL CENTER.

YOU CAN SEE ON BOTH THE NORTH SIDE AND THE EAST SIDE HOW THE CREEK LITERALLY WRAPS AROUND THAT NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE BUILDING.

GOTTEN VERY CLOSE TO WHERE THE MOST RECENT MEASUREMENTS WERE ROUGHLY SEVEN FEET THERE AT THE CORNER OF THE BUILDING, SEVEN FEET TO THAT DROP OFF OF 20 PLUS FEET.

IT'S A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION THAT COULD PUT THAT BUILDING IN JEOPARDY VERY QUICKLY.

IF WE HAD MORE RAIN EVENTS LIKE THAT '22 RAIN, WHICH EVEN SMALLER ONES ARE GOING TO CONTINUE.

I DIDN'T POINT OUT, BUT I THINK ONE OF THE PICTURES HERE WILL SHOW HERE IN JUST A SECOND THE EROSION THAT HAS TAKEN OUT CONCRETE RETAINING WALLS THAT USED TO LINE THAT WHOLE SIDE OF THE BUILDING.

THEY DON'T ANYMORE.

JUST CONTINUE TO EAT INTO INTO THE PROPERTY AND NOW JUST A FEW FEET FROM THAT CORNER.

SEVERAL THINGS HAVE BEEN TALKED ABOUT AS FAR AS A FIX FOR IT OR WHATEVER.

BUT WITH HELP FROM BISD,

THE CITY IS PLANNING ON A SHORT TERM FIX OF A PORTION OF THIS RIGHT AROUND THAT BEND IN THE CREEK, IF I UNDERSTAND IT CORRECTLY, WITH BISD CONTRIBUTING PART OF THIS HELP TO DO A TEMPORARY FIX TO THEN COME BACK AT SOME POINT HERE THE NEXT TWO OR THREE YEARS TO DO A MORE PERMANENT FIX, SIGNIFICANTLY MORE EXPENSIVE.

HAVE TO GET CORE APPROVAL AND WOULD TAKE AT LEAST 2-3 YEARS TO GET THAT EVEN STARTED, MUCH LESS FINISHED, AND WOULD ALSO BE SUBJECT TO THE CITY OF HALTOM, CITY HAVING A BOND ELECTION, A FAVORABLY PASSED BOND ELECTION TO DO THE CREEK.

IT WOULD BE AN EXTENSION OF IMPROVEMENTS TO THAT CREEK THAT'S ALREADY BEEN DONE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF BUILT GOING ON NORTH.

THIS WOULD JUST CONTINUE IT ON DOWN, AT LEAST, I'M ASSUMING, WOULD BE FROM BELKNAP AROUND TO MIDWAY.

BUT IT WOULD BE VERY EXPENSIVE.

THEY WOULD HAVE TO PASS A BOND ELECTION, WHICH AS WE ALL KNOW, MAY OR MAY NOT GET PASSED.

IN THE MEANTIME, EROSION IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO TAKE PLACE, AND WE'VE GOT TO DO SOMETHING.

IF THAT BUILDING STARTED DROPPING OFF, WE'D BEEN SERIOUS JEOPARDY IF WE DON'T HAVE SOMETHING IN THE WORKS PRIOR TO THAT.

WITH ALL OF THAT IN MIND, OPTIONS WERE CONSIDERED TO ADDRESS THE ONGOING NEEDS OF THE WAREHOUSE.

FINDING TWO PLUS ACRES AND THEN BUILDING A NEW BUILDING.

ACCORDING TO THE ESTIMATES OF OUR ARCHITECT, WOULD BE ROUGHLY $13 MILLION AND WOULD TAKE 20-30 MONTHS TO COMPLETE.

WE ALSO SEARCH THE ENTIRE DISTRICT FOR ANY EXISTING WAREHOUSE BUILDINGS THAT MIGHT SERVE THE NEED THAT WE HAVE IN THIS FACILITY TODAY.

THEY DON'T EXIST. DUE TO THE HIGH DEMAND FOR INDUSTRIAL PROPERTIES OF ALL SIZES TODAY, IF SOMETHING LIKE THAT CAME ON THE MARKET, EVEN AN OLD WALMART OR A GROCERY STORE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, THEY GET SNAPPED UP REAL QUICK, AND NOT ALL WOULD SERVE THE NEEDS, ANYWAY, DUE THE CEILING HEIGHTS THAT WE NEED AND SO FORTH IN THIS TYPE OF A WAREHOUSE.

IT'S A BIG ISSUE. NOT EVERY BUILDING WOULD WORK.

BUT THE DISTRICT WAS SCOURED LOOKING FOR EXISTING PROPERTIES THAT COULD SERVE THE NEED.

THE SEARCH, HOWEVER, BROUGHT OUR ATTENTION TO THE RICHLAND CENTER, WHICH IS A MULTI-BUILDING, 30-YEAR-OLD RETAIL CENTER ON THE NORTH SIDE OF HIGHWAY 183121 IN NORTH RICHLAND HILLS.

TEACHING WILL STILL HAVE TO OCCUR WITH YOUR TEACHERS.

BUT THEN WHEN THE STUDENT GETS HOME, IT WILL BE LIKE A HUMAN BEING; IS THERE WATCHING WHAT THEY DO AND MONITORING WHAT THEY DO AND HELPING THEM, NOT GIVING THEM THE ANSWER, BUT ASKING THEM THE QUESTIONS, MAKING THEM MOVE INTO THAT RIGHT DIRECTION.

WHEN YOU HAVE A STRUGGLE, TEACHERS, PRINCIPAL, SOMETIMES THAT STRUGGLE BECOMES YOUR STRENGTH.

I'M NOT GOING TO TELL YOU ALL THESE CLASSES THAT I WENT TO, I'M JUST GOING TO TELL YOU THE ONES THAT STOOD OUT TO ME.

UNDERSTANDING AND ENGAGING IN LATINO FAMILIES.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS THAT REALLY COMP ME, REALLY PAID ATTENTION TO, REMOVE THE TERM 'LANGUAGE BARRIER'.

IT'S NOT A BARRIER, AND JUST SAY THAT THERE ARE SOME LANGUAGE DIFFERENCES.

JUST THE WORD ITSELF MAKES A DIFFERENCE.

WHY IS IT SUCH A BARRIER BECAUSE I SPEAK SPANISH OR GERMAN OR FRENCH? IT'S NOT A BARRIER. IT'S JUST A DIFFERENCE.

AGAIN, STORYTELLING, POWERFUL IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE.

AGAIN, ARE WE TELLING OUR STORIES IN THIS DISTRICT, AND I KNOW WE ARE, ON BILLBOARDS, OUR COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT? WE'RE GETTING THE MESSAGE OUT THERE, AND WE HAVE TO TELL OUR STORY.

MAKE SURE THE NEWS THAT IS REPORTED BACK ABOUT OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT IS POSITIVE.

MAKE SURE THEY'RE UNDERSTANDING WHAT WE'RE DOING AND HOW SUCCESSFUL WE ARE.

LET SOMEBODY TELL THE STORY.

BUT LET'S MAKE SURE WE'RE TELLING THAT STORY FOR THEM.

ON SATURDAY, I HAD TO GO SATURDAY MORNING, 08:00-11:00, BECAUSE THERE WAS A REQUIREMENT TO BE IN PERSON, BRENDA TOLD ME, SO I SHOWED UP.

WE TALKED ABOUT EVALUATING AND IMPROVING STUDENT OUTCOMES, AND WE LEARNED, OF COURSE, THAT WE NEED TO SUPPORT AND ADVOCATE FOR THE STUDENT AS WELL AS THE TEACHERS, PREPARE ALL STUDENTS WITH AN EXIT STRATEGY INTO THE REAL WORLD.

THEN I WROTE SOMETHING DOWN, PROBABLY SEEN IT BEFORE, "TEACHING IS A PROFESSION THAT MAKES THE OTHER PROFESSIONS POSSIBLE." I LOOK FORWARD TO GOING EVERY YEAR BECAUSE EVERY YEAR I LEARNED SOMETHING NEW AND I DIDN'T HAVE A COHORT DOWN THERE WITH ME.

KELLEY WENT TO SAN ANTONIO, BUT I MET A LOT OF GREAT PEOPLE FROM VARIOUS DISTRICTS, AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I THINK WE HAVE THE BEST SCHOOL DISTRICT IN TEXAS. HELLO.

WE DO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO REFUND ABOUT 98.9 MILLION OF THE 2015 A AND 2015 B BONDS AT A LOWER INTEREST RATE, WHICH WOULD SAVE THE TAXPAYERS OVER $8 MILLION.

WE ALSO WILL BE PRESENTING THE BOARD WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO PREPAY BONDS.

IN THE LAST 10 YEARS, THE BOARD THROUGH ACTION OF REALLY GREAT FINANCIAL THOUGHT HAVE SAVED OUR TAXPAYERS OVER $38.5 MILLION THROUGH BOND PREPAYMENTS.
