I SECOND. THANK YOU, MR. DAVIS, AND MR. DILKS, WHO HAS SECONDED. ANY DISCUSSION OR IS THERE ANOTHER NOMINATION? OKAY. ONE DISCUSSION. FIVE YEARS AGO, WE HAD A VACANCY ON OUR BOARD AND STARTED LOOKING AROUND AND TALKING TO PEOPLE AND SAID, WE NEED TO FIND SOMEBODY IN HALTOM CITY AREA AND BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO BE INVOLVED WITH BRENDA AND HER CHURCH WITH MY CHURCH HELPED START HER CHURCH MANY YEARS AGO AND GOT TO KNOW HER AND TRUSTED HER AND KNEW THAT SHE HAD DEEP ROOTS IN THIS COMMUNITY.

AND I ALREADY KNEW HER. I WAS SOLD IMMEDIATELY, AND WE TALKED TO A BUNCH OF PEOPLE WHO INTRODUCED BRENDA TO A BUNCH OF PEOPLE, AND WITHOUT A DOUBT, SHE HAS SERVED AND PERFORMED EXACTLY AS I KNEW SHE WOULD WITH THE KIDS IN MIND, WITH THE COMMUNITY IN MIND, WITH THE VALUES THAT WE ALL CAN TRUST AND BELIEVE IN.

AND FOR THAT, I'M GRATEFUL. AND I'M GLAD WE HAD THAT TALK FIVE YEARS AGO, BRENDA.

I REALLY, REALLY AM. AND SO IF ANYBODY WANTS TO BLAME FOR BRENDA BEING THERE, I'LL TAKE YOUR.

OF COURSE, NOT EVERY SCHOOL DAY IS PERFECT. SOMETIMES WE FORGET OUR HOMEWORK AND CALL OUR TEACHER MOM.

YES, THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS MORE THAN YOU WOULD THINK.

BUT OUR TEACHERS CONTINUE TO ENCOURAGE US EVERY SINGLE DAY.

BECAUSE OF OUR TEACHERS, PRINCIPALS, AND OTHER STAFF, WE KEEP GROWING.

AT FVE, WE BELIEVE THAT WE ARE CAPABLE, WE ARE KIND, WE NEVER GIVE UP, WE HAVE STRONG MINDS.

IN OUR SCHOOL, WE ARE SAFE TO TRY, TAKE A RISK AND REACH FOR THE SKY.

I WOULD LIKE TO START BY CONGRATULATING OUR NEWLY RE-ELECTED TRUSTEES AND OUR BOARD OFFICERS FOR THE 26-27 SCHOOL YEAR.

CONGRATULATIONS, AND THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR LEADERSHIP THAT YOU PROVIDE TO US.

SO TONIGHT IS THE END OF AN ERA FOR BIRDVILLE ISD.

AND I WOULD BE REMISS IF I DID NOT TAKE A MOMENT TO REFLECT ON THE FACT THAT THIS IS OUR FINAL BOARD MEETING IN THIS BOARD ROOM.

I WAS ACTUALLY HERE WHEN WE OPENED THIS BOARDROOM 25 YEARS AGO.

SO THIS IS KIND OF A FULL CIRCLE MOMENT FOR ME AS WELL.

I REMEMBER WHEN THEY HUNG THAT ON THE WALL, THE MISSION OVER THERE. VERY COOL.

SO BIRDVILLE ISD HAS HELD BOARD MEETINGS IN THIS ROOM SINCE THE ADDITION TO THIS ORIGINAL ADMINISTRATION BUILDING.

AND THAT ADDITION WAS COMPLETED IN 2001, 25 YEARS AGO.

SO THE HISTORY IN THIS ENTIRE BUILDING IS TRULY REMARKABLE.

THERE'S A LOT OF STORIES THAT WE REMEMBER THAT WE HAVE, THAT WE MADE AND MEMORIES THAT WE SHARED.

SO WE'RE EXCITED FOR THE NEW MEMORIES WE'RE GOING TO MAKE IN OUR NEW BOARDROOM AT THE BISD ADMINISTRATIVE COMPLEX STARTING NEXT MONTH.

BUT WE WILL FOREVER CHERISH THIS ROOM AND THIS BUILDING.

THEIR IMPACT BEGAN IN 2024 AT HALTOM MIDDLE SCHOOL, WHERE THEY DONATED 240 FULLY FILLED BACKPACKS WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO SUPPORT STUDENTS.

IN 2025, THEY CONTINUED THEIR GENEROSITY BY PROVIDING ANOTHER 240 BACKPACKS TO NORTH RICHLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL.

THIS YEAR, ALTRUSA DFW HAS EXPANDED THEIR EFFORTS THROUGH A MEANINGFUL PARTNERSHIP WITH BINION AND THOMPSON ELEMENTARIES AND RICHLAND MIDDLE.

THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS HAVE INCLUDED SENDING DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS TO READ WITH STUDENTS, PROVIDING 75 LARGE SNACK BAGS OVER SPRING BREAK AND DONATING ESSENTIAL TOILETRIES TO STOCK THE NURSE'S OFFICE. THEY HAVE ALSO SUPPORTED MCKINNEY-VENTO STUDENTS WITH HYGIENE SUPPLIES AND LAUNDROMAT GIFT CARDS, AND DONATED 120 PAIRS OF NEW UNDERWEAR, ALONG WITH 50 SNACK BAGS.

IT IS WITH SINCERE APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE THAT WE RECOGNIZE ALTRUSA DFW FOR THEIR CONTINUED PARTNERSHIP AND UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO SERVING BIRDVILLE ISD STUDENTS, STAFF, AND FAMILIES. THEIR DEDICATION IS MAKING A LASTING DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITIES.

STINSON. THE GALLAUDET UNIVERSITY NATIONAL ACADEMIC BOWL IS A NATIONWIDE COMPETITION SPONSORED BY GALLAUDET UNIVERSITY, THE WORLD'S ONLY LIBERAL ARTS UNIVERSITY FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING.

THE ACADEMIC BOWL WAS ESTABLISHED TO PROMOTE ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE, LEADERSHIP, TEAMWORK AND COLLEGE READINESS AMONG HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING. TEAMS FROM SCHOOLS AND PROGRAMS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES COMPETE IN A QUIZ BOWL STYLE FORMAT THAT CHALLENGES STUDENTS IN A WIDE RANGE OF ACADEMIC SUBJECTS.

STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN REGIONAL COMPETITIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WITH QUALIFYING TEAMS ADVANCING TO THE NATIONAL FINALS HELD ON THE GALLAUDET UNIVERSITY CAMPUS IN WASHINGTON, D.C. BIRDVILLE REGIONAL DAY SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR THE DEAF HAS BEEN PARTICIPATING IN THE ACADEMIC BOWL SINCE 2018.

FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS, THE TEAM HAS ADVANCED TO THE REGIONAL COMPETITION AND RECEIVED A SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD AS VOTED ON BY PARTICIPATING TEAMS. THE TOP FOUR TEAMS FROM EACH OF THE FOUR REGIONS ADVANCED TO NATIONALS.

THIS YEAR, BIRDVILLE EARNED A PLACE IN THE TOP FOUR OF THE SOUTHEAST REGION AND ADVANCED TO NATIONALS IN APRIL.

IT WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT BIRDVILLE EARNED A PLACE AS ONE OF THE TOP 16 TEAMS IN THE COUNTRY.

FOLLOWING THREE DAYS OF STIFF COMPETITION AND UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF COACHES AMELIA DUKE AND JACQUELINE GUERRERO, BIRDVILLE WAS ONCE AGAIN AWARDED THE SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD FROM THEIR FELLOW TEAMS. WE ARE EXTREMELY PROUD OF THE DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT OF OUR STUDENTS AND THEIR COACHES.

AND BEFORE I INTRODUCE THE INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS, I'D LIKE TO RECOGNIZE DR.

THE PROPOSED REVISION TO LOCAL POLICY DNA REFLECT IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TEXAS INCENTIVE ALLOTMENT, BETTER KNOWN AS THE TIA FOR 26-27 SCHOOL YEAR AND OUR CURRENT PRACTICE OF ALLOWING LESS THAN ANNUAL APPRAISALS FOR QUALIFYING TEACHERS. BASED ON SOME RECENT GUIDANCE THAT WE RECEIVED THROUGH THE PARTICIPATION IN THE T TEST TWO PILOT PROGRAM, WE NEED TO MAKE SOME ADDITIONAL REVISIONS THAT HAVE BEEN RECOMMENDED BY THE PEOPLE.

WELL, ACTUALLY THE TIA. AND THOSE REVISIONS ARE SHOWN IN BLUE ON YOUR POLICY THAT'S IN YOUR BOARD MATERIALS.

WE ALSO SUBMITTED THE PROPOSED POLICY TO TASB, WHICH RECOMMENDED REMOVING REPETITIVE LANGUAGE REGARDING THE ANNUAL EVALUATION REQUIREMENT FOR TEACHERS ASSIGNED TO TIA DESIGNATED COURSES OR SUBJECTS.
