FOR BOTH THIS LATE START TO FALL AND SPRING OF 2020, WHEREIN PARENTS WHO COULD NOT STAY HOME WITH THEIR YOUNG CHILDREN WERE FORCED TO SPEND FROM THEIR BUDGET TO ENROLL THEIR CHILDREN IN SOME FORM OF CHILDCARE.

WHILE THE REPORTING OF POSITIVE TESTING INCREASINGLY EXPONENTIALLY IS TO BE EXPECTED WITH THE OVERALL ABUNDANCE OF TESTING, WHY IS THE SCHOOL BOARD NOT LOOKING AT THE ACTUAL NUMBERS REGARDING DEATH, DEATH RATE, AND OPENING AS USUAL? HAS THE SCHOOL DISTRICT EVER CLOSE FOR THE FLU SEASON? THE ANSWER IS NO.

HAS ANYONE CONSIDER USING VACANT BUILDINGS, AN EXAMPLE MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND HIGH SCHOOLS TO DIVIDE THE ELEMENTARY AGED STUDENTS INTO MORE CLASSROOMS TO ALLOW FOR THE ALTERNATIVE TO REMAIN CLOSED, SIX FEET OF SEPARATION? I EXPECT THIS E-MAIL MALE TO BE ASKED AND ANSWERED IN MY ABSENCE, AND I WILL BE OBSERVING REMOTELY.

I WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS MY CONCERNS ABOUT RETURNING TO WORK ON CAMPUS WHEN THE SCHOOL YEAR BEGINS.

MY CONCERN COMES DOWN TO SIMPLY MY FAMILY.

MY SON TEDDY IS FOUR YEARS OLD.

HE WAS BORN WITH A DOUBLE AORTIC ARCH AND HAS A VASCULAR RING OR AN EXTRA BLOOD VESSEL THAT WRAPS AROUND HIS TRACHEA AND THE ESOPHAGUS.

IT SOON BECAME HARD FOR HIM TO BREATHE AND EAT, AND AT THREE MONTHS OLD, HE HAD HEART SURGERY TO BREAK THE VASCULAR RING.

TODAY HE IS DOING VERY WELL, GROWING LIKE CRAZY, AND HE LOVES TO EAT, BUT HE STILL SEES A PULMONOLOGIST TWICE A YEAR AND TAKES HIS MAINTENANCE INHALER TWICE A DAY.

WHEN HE GETS COLD OR SICK, HE NEEDS EXTRA STEROIDS AND MEDICINE TO REGULATE HIS BREATHING.

WHILE THE E-MAIL FROM DR. CLARK RECOMMENDS WE FIND A SAFE AND SECURE PLACE FOR OUR CHILDREN, FOR MY BOY, I BELIEVE THE SAFEST PLACE FOR HIM IS AT HOME, WHERE WE CAN CONTROL THE FACTORS INVOLVED IN HIS RISK AND EXPOSURE.

THE ISD HAS TAKEN AWAY MY ABILITY TO PROTECT MY HEALTH AND SAFETY.

I ORDER MY GROCERIES ONLINE.

I DO NOT GIVE BLIND FAITH THAT I WILL BE SAFE AT SCHOOL SIMPLY BECAUSE I'M BEING TOLD I WILL BE.

I UNDERSTAND TEACHERS ARE BEING ALLOWED TO WORK FROM HOME ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS.

BUT WHAT IS THE ISD'S DEFINITION OF A QUALIFYING PREEXISTING CONDITION? IS THERE A BOARD OF MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS THAT WILL BE MAKING THAT DECISION? WHAT IS THE STANDARD PROCESS FOR DECIDING WHO QUALIFIES OR WILL THE DECISION BE LEFT SOLELY TO THE INDIVIDUAL PRINCIPALS WHO HAVE NO PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL DEGREE? WILL MY ASTHMA QUALIFY ME AS ONE OF THOSE CASES OR AM I OUT OF MY LUCK BECAUSE MY ABILITY TO BREATHE ISN'T SERIOUS ENOUGH? FORTH, IT APPEARS THAT IN THE CASE OF A STAFF MEMBER OR STUDENT BEING SUSPECTED OF HAVING SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19, THAT THE STAFF AND STUDENTS THAT WORK TOGETHER WILL BE SENT HOME TO CONFIRM THE DIAGNOSIS.

IS THAT IN FACT THE CASE? IN ADDITION, IF THAT STAFF MEMBER OR STUDENT IS CONFIRMED TO HAVE THE VIRUS, WILL EVERYONE IN THAT GROUP BE REQUIRED TO CONTINUE STUDYING AND WORKING FROM HOME FOR 14 DAYS? ON A FINAL NOTE WITH REGARD TO THIS QUESTION, WE'LL ALLOWANCES BE MADE IF THIS SHOULD OCCUR MORE THAN ONCE DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR? IN OTHER WORDS, ONE STUDENT OR STAFF MEMBER IS CONFIRMED HAVE THE VIRUS AND EVERYONE IN THAT EXPOSED GROUP STAYS HOME FOR 14 DAYS, AND THEN ONE MONTH LATER ANOTHER PERSON IS CONFIRMED TO BE ILL, AND ANOTHER 14 DAYS REQUIRED FOR QUARANTINE FOR THAT SAME GROUP.

FIFTH, REGARDING SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS, HOW MANY DOES THE DISTRICT CURRENTLY HAVE CONFIRMED TO WORK DURING THE UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR AND WHAT WILL BE DONE IF NO SUBSTITUTE IS AVAILABLE, BUT A STAFF MEMBER IS ENABLED TO WORK WITH A GROUP OF STUDENTS FOR ALL OR PART OF A DAY OR POTENTIALLY FOR AN EVEN LONGER PERIOD OF TIME? HOWEVER, TEACHERS ARE BEING ABLE TO WORK ON CAMPUS, YET STILL TAKE THEIR OWN CHILDREN, EVEN THOUGH ADVISE NOT TO STILL GETTING A FULL PAYCHECK.

THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR MANY OTHER FAMILIES IN PROFESSIONS.

I UNDERSTAND NO SITUATION IS PERFECT.

YET MANY WOULD LOVE TO GO TO WORK AND TAKE THEIR KIDDOS.

MANY OF US HAVE NUMEROUS QUESTIONS AND STILL HAVE TO RECEIVE GUIDANCE OR DIRECTION.

YET WE ARE BEING GIVEN A SHORT DEADLINE TO REGISTER WITHOUT ANSWERS OR INFORMATION.

HOW IS THE DISTRICT PLANNING TO ACCOMMODATE THESE FAMILIES WHO CANNOT FEASIBLY BE ON AT CERTAIN TIMES, PAY SOMEONE TO ASSIST THEIR KIDS WITH LEARNING FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

MY FINAL ONE THIS EVENING IS HEATHER MURPHY FROM MIDDLE SCHOOL CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING.

AS A MEMBER OF THE VERBAL IST COMMUNITY, I BELIEVE IT'S IMPORTANT TO ADDRESS THE PLAN TO REQUIRE ALL TEACHERS TO WORK ON CAMPUS WHEN SCHOOL STARTS AUGUST 17TH.

PER DOCTOR BROWN STATEMENT TO FACULTY AND STAFF ON JULY 22ND, 2020, I HAVE SERIOUS CONCERNS.

MY PRIMARY CONCERN IS THAT THE TEA DIRECTIVES ARE BEING MISCONSTRUED AND A SEPARATE AGENDA IS BEING FORCED UPON FACULTY, STAFF AND THEIR FAMILIES.

THE TEA INSTRUCTIONS DID NOT STATE THAT TEACHERS ARE REQUIRED TO WORK ON CAMPUS.

IT IS SAID THAT DISTRICTS HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO WORK WITH TEACHERS WHO HAVE A HEALTH CONDITION, A CHILD IN SCHOOL, OR ANOTHER CONCERN THAT WOULD PROHIBIT THEM FROM BEING ON CAMPUS SAFELY FULL-TIME.

IF A TEACHER HAS THE APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY AT HOME TO INSTRUCT AND DOCUMENT STUDENTS PROGRESS WITH FIDELITY, HE OR SHE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO DO SO, TO FURTHER MITIGATE RISK AND THE DISTRICT IS TO PROVIDE THE TEACHERS WITH THE NECESSARY SUPPORT.

ADDITIONALLY, DR. BROWN STATED THAT TEACHERS FOUND SAFE AND RELIABLE CHILD CARE FOR THEIR CHILDREN DURING SCHOOL HOURS.

THIS OBTUSE STATEMENT SHOWS THAT DR. BROWN AND THE BOARD DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE FINANCIAL BURDEN AND EMOTIONAL STRAIN TEACHERS WILL FACE.

CHILDCARE IS NOT LIMITED AND IF IT WAS SAFE TO SEND CHILDREN TO DAY CARE FACILITIES, TEAR AT COUNTY OFFICIALS WOULD NOT HAVE CLOSED SCHOOLS FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.

OUR FAMILIES HAVE ENDURED JOB LOSS, SALARY LOSS, AND OTHER STRUGGLES AND ARE NOW DAUNTED WITH FINDING APPROPRIATE FULL-TIME CHILDCARE AT OUR EXPENSE.

TEACHER, ADMINISTRATOR, AND DISTRICT PERSONNEL SALARIES ARE POSTED ONLINE AND IT'S CLEAR WHO WILL SUCCUMB TO THE EXTREME COSTS OF SAFE, RELIABLE CHILDCARE.

AT THE SAME TIME, DR. BROWN STATEMENT IMPLIES THAT TEACHERS CHILDREN ARE NOT CONSIDERED VALUABLE MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY AND THEREFORE DO NOT NEED [NOISE] TO BE PROTECTED BY THE HEALTH OFFICIALS ORDERS.

IT'S PERMISSIBLE FOR OTHER PEOPLE'S CHILDREN TO LEARN SAFELY FROM THEIR HOME, BUT NOT TEACHERS CHILDREN.

THE BOARD'S LOGIC IS FLAWED AND DANGEROUS TO THE VARIOUS STAFF THAT YOU CLAIM YOU'RE TRYING TO PROTECT.

IMAGINE HOW INEFFECTIVE A TEACHER WILL BE IF HE OR SHE IS STUCK ON A CAMPUS, WHILE THEIR CHILD IS EXPOSED TO DOZENS OF OTHERS AT DAY CARE.

THEN IMAGINE THAT TEACHER BEING FORCED TO SPEND AN ADDITIONAL FIVE OR SIX HOURS EVERY NIGHT TRYING TO GET THAT CHILD TO DO HOMEWORK THAT COULDN'T BE COMPLETED WHILE AT DAY CARE.

THE QUALITY OF WORK WILL DECLINE AND GO AGAINST THE VERY METRICS YOU COUNT METICULOUSLY EVERY GRADING PERIOD AND DESPERATELY NEED IN ORDER TO RECEIVE FUNDING FROM TEA.

YOU STATE THAT SCHOOLS WILL HAVE BETTER TECHNOLOGY AND RESOURCES ON CAMPUS, AND THEREFORE, IT'S BETTER FOR TEACHERS TO NOT PROVIDE INSTRUCTION FROM HOME.

IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT THE ONLINE LEARNING WILL BE MORE ROBUST LEARNING THAT WAS CONDUCTED THIS TIME AROUND.

HOWEVER, THERE HAD BEEN ABSOLUTELY NO DETAILS PROVIDED EXCEPT DURING THE LAST BOARD MEETING, IT WAS STATED THAT THE DISTRICT HAS ADOPTED THE ASYNCHRONOUS, SELF-PACED COURSES WITH INTERMITTENT TEACHER INSTRUCTION VIDEOS AND PREASSIGNED WORK LEARNING MODEL AS OUTLINED BY THE TEA.

I HAVE EXTREME CONCERNS REGARDING THIS APPROACH.

I FEEL VERY STRONGLY THAT STUDENTS NEED THE REAL-TIME TEACHER SUPPORTED WORK, AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO ASK QUESTIONS AND INTERACT WITH OTHERS IN THE CLASS IN REAL-TIME THAT IS OUTLINED IN THE SYNCHRONOUS MODEL.

I'M CONCERNED THAT WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO INTERACT WITH THE TEACHER AS ASYNCHRONOUS MODEL SUGGESTS, STUDENTS WOULD NOT BE SET UP FOR SUCCESS, NOT ONLY THIS SCHOOL YEAR, BUT THEIR FUTURE EDUCATION AS WELL.

WE FEEL LIKE IT'S IMPORTANT THAT WE GO AHEAD AND START ADDRESSING THESE ISSUES BECAUSE, FOR INSTANCE, WE LOST THE ABILITY TO RUN AIR HANDLER AND THAT COULD AFFECT UP TO 10 CLASSROOMS AS FAR AS HEATING AND COOLING THEM.

THEN WE COULD ALSO HAVE A MASSIVE LEAK AND IT COULD RUN OVER THE WEEKEND, CAUSE A LOT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE.

WE JUST FELT LIKE THIS IS AN IMPORTANT PROJECT TO GO AHEAD AND TACKLE.

CONED HAD MENTIONED THAT WE WERE REPLACING A CHILLER.

THIS PROJECT DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH REPLACING CHILLERS.

IT'S EVERYTHING ELSE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CENTRAL PLANT FOR PIPE SYSTEM IN THE BUILDING.

THAT'S THE COOLING TOWERS, THE BOILERS, THE PUMPS, PIPING SYSTEM, AIR HANDLERS INSIDE THE BUILDING, AND THE DUCK WORK AND THE EMS SYSTEM.

WE'RE GOING TO BE LOOKING AT OTHER WAYS TO ENSURE THAT WE HAVE GOOD INDOOR AIR QUALITY.

WE'LL BE USING TECHNOLOGY THAT CAN HELP COMBAT SOME OF THE ISSUES WITH VIRUSES THAT WE'RE SEEING RIGHT NOW.

THAT'S PRETTY MUCH IT ON THIS PROJECT.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS A REALLY GOOD SLIDE.

JUST TELLING YOU THAT DURING THE COOLING TIME OF THE YEAR, THE COOLING MODE. TAKE THIS OFF, SORRY.

HEAT IS REJECTED INTO THE GROUND AND THAT COOL WATERS IS BROUGHT UP.

THEN IN THE HEATING TIMES OF THE YEAR, IN THE WINTER.

SOME OF THE CONCERNS, AND THIS HAS OCCURRED ESPECIALLY AT ONE OF THESE CAMPUSES WE'VE IDENTIFIED, IS THAT WE'RE GETTING OVERHEATED WELLS, WHICH TAKES THE SYSTEM DOWN IN CERTAIN PARTS OF THE BUILDING.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT DANNY HAD MENTIONED IN THIS THAT I THOUGHT WERE REALLY IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO SEE AS OUR EXISTING WELL FIELDS.

THAT SECOND BULLET WERE DESIGNED AT THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION OF RECOVERY.

THE NEXT PROJECT HE'S GOING TO IDENTIFY FOR YOU IS PART OF THE HIGH SCHOOL, WHERE WE HAVE A LOT OF WELLS THAT ARE UNDERNEATH THE FOOTBALL FIELD AND IT'S LIKE THE WAY I LOOK AT IT FROM MY OWN SIMPLE MIND, NOT HAVING ALL THE EXPERTISE.

WE LIVED IN A PARSONAGE ONE TIME, AN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM HAD BEEN PUT IN THAT WASN'T LARGE ENOUGH, THERE WASN'T ENOUGH TONNAGE.

IT WOULDN'T HEAT AND COOL THE HOUSE SO THEY HAD TO COME BACK AND PUT ANOTHER ONE IN [LAUGHTER].

IT TOOK UP MY WHOLE CLOSET, I WASN'T REAL HAPPY ABOUT THAT.

THAT'S WHAT'S HAPPENED IN SOME OF THESE BECAUSE THE TECHNOLOGY WAS SO NEW.

SOME OF THE SOLUTIONS TO PREVENT THIS OVERHEATING IS TO REDUCE THE RUNTIME OF THE SYSTEM.

TRY TO COMPACT THE SCHOOL DAY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, MODIFY SET POINTS, WHICH IS NOT A VERY POPULAR DECISION WHEN YOU'VE GOT STUDENTS AND TEACHERS ON CAMPUS, WE CAN DO A SUPPLEMENTAL COOLING TOWER, WHICH WE'LL GO OVER IN JUST A MINUTE, BUT THE OTHER SOLUTION FOR THIS ONE THAT WE REALLY HAVE SOME ISSUES IS REMOVING AND REPLACING IT WITH A NON GEOTHERMAL SYSTEM.

WHAT WE HAVE TO DO WHEN WE HAVE THAT, WHEN A DRAIN PAN LEAKS, THE WATER LEAKS DOWN INTO THE BUILDING.

WE HAVE TO GO OUT AND PUT IN A SECONDARY DRAIN PAN, CAPTURE THE WATER WHILE WE ORDER A NEW UNIT.

WE'VE GOTTEN TO THE POINT TO WHERE WE'RE HAVING TO REPLACE TWO OR THREE UNITS A YEAR.

WHEN WE HAVE THAT HIVE TEMPERATURE ANYWHERE, EQUIPMENT'S NOT EFFICIENT, IT'S NOT SAVING US ANYWAY.

WE'RE SPENDING MORE MONEY TO RUN THE EQUIPMENT THAN WE SHOULD.

THERE'S 20 WELL FIELDS LOCATED AT THIS CAMPUS.

HALF OF THEM ARE APPLIED OUT IN THE SPORTS AREAS.

WE HAVE SOME OF THEM UNDER TURF FIELDS AND SOME OF THESE SYSTEMS DO HAVE LEAKS ON THEM AND SOME OF THEM ARE UNDERSIZED.

WHEN YOU START TRYING TO TALK ABOUT ENGINEERING A NEW SYSTEM FOR THIS BUILDING, TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THAT WE CAN'T REALLY GET OUT THERE AND PROPERLY REPAIR WELL FIELDS, DOESN'T MAKE IT A VIABLE SOLUTION.

THAT'S WHY WE'RE PROPOSING THAT WE GO WITH THE BRF SPLITS SYSTEMS. THIS IS A STANDARD FOR THE DISTRICT NOW.

WE'RE DOING THIS AT GRACE HARDEMAN AND WATUAGA MIDDLE SCHOOL.

IT'S A GOOD SYSTEM, IT'S EFFICIENT, IT'S VERY COMPARABLE TO THE EFFICIENCIES OF GEOTHERMAL.

JUST IN SUMMARY, WE HAVE THE PROJECT PRIORITIES, HALTOM HIGH, BIRDVILLE HIGH, THE HOLIDAY HEIGHTS, AND WATUAGA ELEMENTARY AND THEN THE REMAINING SCHOOLS WITH THE WELL FIELDS.

IF THE BOARD ALLOWS US TO MOVE FORWARD, WE WOULD START DESIGNING NEXT MONTH, WHICH WOULD BE COMPLETED IN NOVEMBER.

IN LOOKING AT OUR BUDGET OUTLOOK, WE HAVE 18 MILLION AND SO WE'VE COMMITTED 9.2.

ALSO AT CHENEY HILLS, THE CITY IS SUPPOSED TO REBUILD [INAUDIBLE] AND THAT GOES DOWN FROM CARSON DOWN TO WHERE THE BRIDGE PARKING LOT IS.

THAT'S BEING WATCHED AND MONITORED ALSO.

TO MAKE SURE THEY GET THAT ON TRACK, JUST TO MAKE IT EASIER, AS A HAVE A TERRIBLE BEAT UP ROAD THAT GETS FROM CARSON, IT'S NOT THE BEST IDEAL SOLUTION.

THERE WILL BE SOME ISSUES THAT WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WORK OUT ON THE CHENEY HILLS ON [INAUDIBLE].

IT'S AN OLD STREET.

OBVIOUSLY, THE FUNDS ARE GONE WITH THESE HVAC PROJECTS.

THOMAS COLISEUM IS PROBABLY THE ONLY ONE ON THE LIST THAT WE FEEL LIKE COULD POTENTIALLY BE AT RISK OF DAMAGING THE BUILDING BECAUSE OF THE GYM FLOOR.

IN LOOKING AT THAT BUDGET, OBVIOUSLY THAT'S 3.4 MILLION, BUT IN FOCUSING SPECIFICALLY ON THOMAS COLISEUM.

THE BOARD CONSTRUCTION COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THAT WE CONSIDER FUNDING THAT WITH LEGACY FUNDS.

SO I WANTED TO ASK TONIGHT IF WE MOVE FORWARD ON THAT AND THE FUNDING WOULD BE APPROVED WHEN THE AGENDA ITEM IS PUT FORWARD BUT MR. DAVIS MAY HAVE SOME COMMENTS ON THAT.

WE USED THAT SAME THING MANY TIMES.

WE GOT THAT DONE AHEAD OF SCHEDULE AND A LITTLE BIT UNDER BUDGET.

SO WE'RE PRETTY EXCITED TO HAVE THAT DONE IN EVERY BUILDING.

LAST YEAR, WE WERE SHOWING OFF THE NEW PROJECTOR IN THE COLISEUM THAT WE ACTUALLY USED A CONVOCATION AND A NUMBER OF OTHER EVENTS.

THIS IS AT RICHLAND HIGH SCHOOL AS OUR DISASTER RECOVERY BUSINESS CONTINUANCE SITE.

SO WE NOW HAVE A GENERATOR THERE THAT IS ALSO OPERATIONAL.

IN ADDITION TO POWERING OUR MDF, IT'S ALSO POWERING THE OTHER IDEAS THROUGHOUT THE FACILITY.

SO IF WE EVER HAVE A LONG-TERM POWER OUTAGE, EVERY NETWORK CLOSES AT RICHLAND HIGH SCHOOL AND THEY WILL BE ABLE TO REMAIN ONLINE ALONG WITH THAT SYSTEM.

THE DISTRICT IS IN THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPING DETAIL PLANS AND PROTOCOLS TO MEET THE COUNTY ORDER THAT WE HAVE, THE TEA REQUIREMENTS THAT WE STILL CONTINUE TO READ ABOUT AS THEY CHANGE THOSE, AND TO ALSO ACHIEVE OUR GOALS OF BEING SAFE, ACADEMICALLY SUCCESSFUL, AND SERVICE MINDED IN EITHER OPTION THAT WE HAVE.

THEY TOOK 200 MILLION OF THEIR CARES SPENDING AND TOLD DISTRICTS THAT THEY WERE GOING TO SEND OUT A SURVEY.

THEY DID A DAY OF TRAINING, AN HOUR OF TRAINING ON THURSDAY LAST WEEK, AND TOLD US WE HAD TILL SUNDAY TO SUBMIT THAT DOCUMENT IF WE WERE INTERESTED IN GETTING INVOLVED IN A BULK ORDER THEY WERE DOING AT THE STATE LEVEL, WHERE THE STATE WOULD FUND HALF OF THE DEVICES AND HALF OF THE HOT-SPOTS, DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH MONEY THEY HAD.

I'VE BEEN PART OF RICHLAND HIGH SCHOOL SINCE 1989.

I HAVE A LINK TO MANY DECADES OF RICHLAND, BOTH PAST AND THE FUTURE.

THE THING THAT AMAZES ME STILL IS THE SPIRIT OF RICHLAND.

THE SPIRIT THAT BRINGS PEOPLE BACK TO LIVE HERE AND WORK HERE.

THAT SPIRIT IS THE PEOPLE, THE TEACHERS, AND THE COMMUNITY.

WE'VE ALWAYS BEEN UNIQUE TOO, SO WHEN IT WAS TIME TO CHANGE MASCOTS, WE STILL WANT IT TO BE UNIQUE.

THERE'S 88 SCHOOLS IN TEXAS WHO ARE THE EAGLES AND 87 BULLDOGS, AND WE JUST DIDN'T WANT TO DO THAT.

WE WANTED TO BE SOMETHING DIFFERENT, SO A COMMITTEE WAS FORMED TO COME UP WITH NEW IDEAS.

THE COMMITTEE FROM ALUMNI OF THREE DIFFERENT DECADES, STUDENTS FOR EVERY PART OF THE SCHOOL AND BACKGROUND, TEACHERS FROM ALL PARTS OF THE SCHOOL AS WELL CAME TOGETHER, AND WE CAME UP WITH THREE MASCOTS, ALL BEGINNING WITH R BECAUSE WE STILL WANT TO BE RR.

THE RATTLERS, THE RAPTORS, AND THE ROYALS WERE OUR CHOICES.

THERE ARE VERY FEW OR NONE OF THESE IN TEXAS RIGHT NOW.

HOW DO WE ANNOUNCE THE WINNER FOR OUR NEW MASCOT? WITH BASEBALL SEASON COMING UP, WE THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A GREAT IDEA TO ANNOUNCE THE WINNER WITH A DOT RACE.

WHATEVER CHOICE IS, ALWAYS REMEMBER, RICHLAND HIGH IS OUR SCHOOL.
